The repair process does not begin until we receive written authorization to proceed. The damaged portion of the vehicle is dismantled and inspected for any concealed damages. Upon approval of repairs, our expert technicians will repair/replace the damaged parts in compliance to the written estimate. The decision to repair or replace damaged parts depends on the degree of damage and the cost effectiveness of repairing or replacing. Upon completion of repairs, the vehicle goes to our paint department for refinishing.
Proper preparation is vital to the refinishing process. The next step in the process are sanding and priming of the parts. The paint is computer-mixed to match the manufacturer's original color by using the paint code on your vehicle. Often the paint has to be blended onto the adjacent panels on the vehicle in order to compensate for slight variations in color that occur because of differences in the manufacturers' finishes or aging of the paint on the vehicle.
Next, the base coat is applied. Vehicles that use a three-stage paint system will get a second color applied to it. Lastly, a clear coat is applied, and once the finish has cured, the vehicle is buffed and cleaned.
Items such as door handles that were removed before painting the vehicle are installed. The vehicle is inspected and approved for pick-up. 100% Customer satisfaction is our #1 goal, at Service 1st Auto Care.
